Dr. Thomas Bartzokis first arrived in south Florida in 1991 performing one of the first coronary atherectomy procedures in South Florida while also helping to introduce this new technology to the region. At the time it was the only alternative to coronary balloon angioplasty. Over the years, Dr. Debra Becker, Dr. Mark Rubenstein, Dr. Stephen Servoss, Dr. Barry Merrill, Dr. Michael Cammarata and Dr. Andrew Panakos joined the group to expand its size to seven full-time Board Certified cardiologists adding considerable expertise in the areas of invasive, noninvasive, interventional, and nuclear cardiology, as well as vascular medicine and endovascular intervention.
The expertise of many members of the group has been recognized locally. Dr. Bartzokis has served as Chief of Cardiovascular Services and Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at Boca Raton Regional Hospital (BRRH). Dr. Servoss has served as Vice Chief of Cardiovascular Services and Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at BRRH. Dr. Merrill currently serves as Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at BRRH. Drs. Bartzokis, Becker, Rubenstein, Servoss and Merrill hold academic appointments with the Florida Atlantic University College of Medicine, currently training future physicians who will serve our community.
Our group is conveniently located next to Boca Raton Regional Hospital, where inpatient services are provided. Boca Raton Regional Hospital offers state-of-the-art facilities in coronary, peripheral arterial and structural heart intervention, as well as cardiac surgery, and has been voted one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation. Diagnostic services offered in our office, at 1000 Northwest 9th Court, Suite 101, include exercise stress testing, nuclear stress testing, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, 24-hour Holter monitoring and a pacemaker/implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) clinic. We are on most insurance plans. We treat all of our patients with highest level of care and compassion.
